USA: TX: TX CURE Fan Project

(A friend on Facebook posted this and I wanted to share, many have no idea how hot it gets in prisons, each year men and women die from the heat alone… please, if you can, help out with this one)

***Please Help the TX CURE Fan Project***

Many of our Texas prisoners are indigent and cannot afford the $20.00 to purchase their own fans on commissary. The Summer Heat in Texas is a very brutal time for Texas Prisoners. Heat indexes inside the cells reach up to 125 degrees. Many of our Texas prisoners are indigent and cannot afford the $20.00 to purchase their own fans on commissary. As an act of humane caring and giving we ask for your support for the Texas Cure Fan Project as they gather the donations to make a Fan possible for indigent prisoners. A donation of $20.00 will enable to Texas CURE to purchase and provide another Fan for another prisoner. Donations can be sent in the form of a check or money order to: TX-CURE Fan Project, PO Box 372, Burleson, TX 76097. Thank you!

  1. The TX-CURE Fan Project has changed mailing addresses. The new address is: P.O. Box 38381, Dallas, TX 75238-0381. The Fan Project has supplied over 6000 fans to indigent inmates since its inception, 570 last year. An average of 9 thru 11 Texas prisoners die from heat-related causes each year. Owning—or not owning—a fan can mean the difference between life and death to a Texas prisoner. Please make checks payable to: Texas CURE Fan Project.
